What are the advantages of KGI's fixed wireless technology?

There are many advantages to fixed wireless:

  • It’s easier to setup the equipment. There is no need to run wires directly to the property. Instead, radio waves can be sent directly to a receiver, which can be easily installed on the roof.
  • There are no data caps. Other wireless services, such as satellite-based and cellular-based services, typically have data caps that limit the amount that you can download.
  • It's fast. Fixed wireless internet services tend to be fast broadband. If you need fast Internet services, you may want to inquire about fixed wireless internet. Fixed wireless internet is steadily increasing in speed as technology improves. It can also provide service anywhere and is the best option for when it comes to unlimited high speed internet for rural areas.
  • It’s proven technology. Fixed wireless technology has grown in stability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness for decades. Recent advances have made it a more viable, affordable option for businesses and homeowners.

Can I use my own router and still have the same great service?

The only way to ensure your service with KGI remains great is to use KGI's compatible router. These routers work with the antenna to ensure reliability and stability. In addition, when KGI has an update, it automatically updates the KGI router. If an additional router is desired, KGI asks that it is plugged into the KGI router. This will ensure updates continue and your service will remain secure inside of our firewall.

KGI receives an alarm the moment a customer's internet is down. This allows us to immediately respond and fix the issue, as well as update the router.

When does KGI reboot and update the system?

For security measures, KGI reboots and updates the system Friday evening into Saturday morning. In the rare case that your CPE is not responding, unplug it. Wait 10 seconds and plug back in. Wait a few minutes and the system should reboot itself. If it is still not responding, email us at support@kgicomm.com to open a ticket. You may also email a maintenance request ticket inside your KGI customer portal. KGI has engineers on call to handle your issue.
